
Youth Coordinator / Performance Coach
TAYLOR NELSON-COOK

Taylor was born and raised in Arlington, TX, where he began playing soccer at a young age. He has enjoyed success across all sports in his career and has played against, and with some of the top athletes in the nation, in football and soccer. Taylor was a part of the soccer team that set a high school record in wins and goals scored. Taylor went on to play soccer at UT Tyler where he received All-Conference honors and led the team as captain. He decided to pursue his career in strength and conditioning to help young athletes reach their peak physical potential as they begin to reach high school so that they can build on their athleticism with skill to be the best possible athlete.
Taylor started his coaching career at APEC head quarters in Tyler, TX. There he coached all levels of athletes and was an integral leader for adult spherical fitness. Taylor also carried the title of Youth Development Coordinator. Taylor comes to Fort Worth with a wealth of experience and passion for people to succeed. Taylor Nelson-Cook has experience with NFL, MLB, and professional soccer athletes. In addition, he has aided in producing six Division 1 gymnastic athletes along with several All Americans.
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
NFL:
2018: 10 athletes drafted, 19 signed in the 2018 NFL draft. Taylor was a part of the team at the 2018 NFL combine that had 2 top overall performers in Malik Jefferson(LB) and Dylan Cantrell(WR). Both had the #1 SPARQ score as well. Dylan has been training in APEC system since he was 11 years old. In 2018 alone, 28 combine/ pro day athletes grabbed 53 top 10 performances in competing events.
2017: Taylor trained and the fastest linebacker at the 2017 NFL combine (Duke Riley) along with 6 total top performer marks. In 2017 APEC supported 14 players that made it to the NFL in 2017 including Dede Westbrook (4.27 - 40) and sophomore early entry Howard Wilson(4th round). Outside of combine training Taylor has worked with Solomon Thomas, Josh Boyce, Tank Carder, Josh Carraway, and Derrick Kindred.
MLB / MiLB baseball:
Taylor has trained the likes of Noah Syndegaard, Michael Kopech, Trevor Story, AJ Minter, Hoby Milner, Zach Lee, and multiple MLB Top Draft Picks. Taylor also coached the Tyler Junior College Baseball during their streak 4 National Championships in a row.
Soccer:
Taylor has a lot of experience in soccer where he has trained 40+ college athletes at the Div.1, Div. 2 and Div. 3 levels as well as aided in the development and recruitment of over 80+ High School level athletes ranging from DA, ECNL, Lake Highlands and Classic League. Taylor has also helped Carlos Rodriguez in his jump from the Semi-Professional League in England to the 3rd tier of the Spanish League.
Gymnastics:
During his time in Tyler, Texas at APEC Headquarters Taylor was in charge of the athletic development and improvement of 6 Div. 1 gymnasts as well as a Hannah Hagle, a member of USA Gymnastics.
Track and Field:
In 2018, Taylor learned from and was mentored by Dan Pfaff, who is the creator Taylor helped a Junior Olympic Athlete finish 3rd in the nation in the 1500m and 5th in the 800m.
