At APEC we understand that you are looking for, a performance edge. You could be trying to get off the bench, earn all district, or even be the best in the nation. Our training will get you to the next level. Learn why professional athletes from all over come here to train.
Accelerate Performance Enhancement Center (APEC) provides cutting edge training for the serious athlete. All Levels. All Athletes. All Year.
APEC is the only facility in East TX dedicated just to athletes. We bring you the best results in an enviroment that is free of typical gym distractions.
All Training done at APEC has specific periodization and technique instruction for the athletes. WE provide the highest level of Education for Athletic Enhancement in East Texas. Our results speak for themselves with our athletes performances on the field.
At APEC our training is for sport performance. We buy into cutting edge science, not just hard work. We study all year to keep up with the most current advantages for your athlete.
Its not always what you do it is how you do it.
What athletes need is something that can give them power and speed while also growing their body to its potential, injury free. At APEC we know that not everyone will be an elite athlete so we focus on developing confidence and work ethic that will translate to all aspects of life. We strive to create a habit of pursuing Excellence with our athletes.
APEC features the very best equipment for ATHLETIC ENHANCEMENT. The facility is over 7000 square feet with a 60 yard turf runway that extends out the back of the building. The facility is carefully divided into two training areas: Power and Speed.
APEC also has a grass field adjacent the training facility.
What do I get with my APEC program?
*World-class training at a state-of-the-art facility made specifically for athletes.*
*Pre and Post testing for measurable performance results.
*Nutritional packet with plan for weight gain, weight loss, and maintenance. *
We have a membership to _________ fitness. Should we still consider training at APEC?
Gyms only provide a facility to train. At APEC we provide the physical, mental, visual and emotional components of your complete training program.
Is this just for football and track?
Absolutely not! Even though our training director played professional football he is knowledgeable and certified to train all sports boys/girls. Our staff is diverse with multisport backgrounds and specializations. In fact we have had incredible results for athletes focusing on basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, soccer, and swimming. We have athletes from all different levels and all different sports Girls and boys. APEC has had remarkable results for every sport available in East TX.
We want our kids to work hard. Do you wear them out and get them in shape?
APEC isn’t about working harder. It’s about working smarter. Anybody can work people to death and call it a good workout. We want to develop the athlete completely. This takes a dynamic approach and a lot of technique instruction. To answer the question our athletes work hard, but we focus more on working smart.
Is one training session enough to make an impact on my athlete?
We can make a huge difference in your athlete in six weeks. The results are consistently remarkable the first time we train an athlete. However, most high level athletes are training year round. The extended period of time allows us to take a systematic approach to your athletes’ complete development. Ideally we would like to train the athlete with different emphasis in the off season, pre season, and post season recovery phases.
Should we repeat APEC training at home to get even more from our training experience?
Early in my own athletic career I had to learn that more is not better. Also, harder work is not always better. Also, many of the things we do here require special equipment. We will take care of all of the athletes training needs aside from what they are doing at their respective school programs. Extra training could lead to imbalances, fatigue, and eventually injury.
Will someone be working with my athlete or do they just go through the workout on their own?
The athletes are trained every step of the way. The only thing they can do on their own is get a drink and run to the restroom. We keep a close eye on the athletes’ technique and a minimum of 1 trainer to 5 athletes’ ratio. After all anyone can do drills and lift, it is our instruction that separates our training from everyone else.
Can you get my athlete a scholarship?
We use advanced training techniques just like the pros but that doesn't mean that everyone will get to that level. Our commitment is to get the very most from your athletes potential, whatever that may be. On another note, we have effectively become an athlete pipeline to several different colleges with many different sports. If your athlete is on that level we will do our best to connect the dots. Our top priority is to create a habit of pursuing excellence in all areas of the athletes life.
At our athletes' school they workout during the period and sometimes after school. Will APEC be too much to add?
No. We understand what high school programs do. We understand the physical load put on our athletes while they are away from APEC. At APEC we focus on so many other components of athleticism. We have a much more dynamic approach than just bigger, faster, stronger. Our training can even touch on things as specific as sports vision improvement. In short we will not be doing the same things they do at their school program.
The most obvious factor is that we work with 12 athletes at a time, as opposed to 80-100. High school coaches do an outstanding job but they do not have the time, equipment, or resources to do what we do.
I have worked with a trainer in the past. Will we do the same things at APEC that I did with my trainer?
All trainers are not equal. Truth is you can get a personal training certification in less than a week. To get a personal training certification you do not even need a high school diploma, much less a college degree. A common mistake people make while choosing a trainer is appearance or athletic background. Do not make the mistake of thinking a body building career prepares you to train athletes. Just because someone is huge does not mean they can get you strong for your sport. There is a reason that successful quarterbacks, basketball players, pitchers, soccer players look the way they do. Sure we have helped athletes gain weight but getting huge is not always the key to success. Creating power applicable to function is.
Also if a genetically gifted athlete was successful at the professional level it does not mean they have the knowledge to get someone else there. A great sports background is good but where did they start from? Training is about knowledge and psychology. Who can get the very most from your athlete? Most professional trainers were overachievers in there sport which made them study training intensely to keep up.
Athletic enhancement specialist should have a minimum of a college degree in a kinesiology related field. You must have a degree to take the test to be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. If a trainer does not have the CSCS they are not qualified to train athletes at a high level. Our training director also has his Performance Enhancement Specialist certification by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Bobby has also accrued many other specific training certifications for speed development and other focuses that are highly thought of in the strength and conditioning profession. The point is that training an athlete for performance is a completely different approach then fitness training. A typical personal trainer does not have the knowledge, equipment, or experience to be training athletes. Made up certifications such as Extreme Training Certified, Caveman Training certified, and many more carry no professional accreditation outside their own company. Aside from all of the certifications our training simply separates itself with our results.

Cody Welch: Assistant Manager & Performance Specialist
Cody trained at APEC as a young aspiring football player. Although undersized and considered slow he trained hard to overcome his stereotypes. Welch dominated his level being named the best defensive player in the state of Texas. After earning a scholarship to D2 Southeastern he sustained a severe back injury in thier off-season training program. Determined, he came home and began rehabbing after a supposed career ending surgery. Cody intensely trained and defied the odds returning to college football. After winning a Conference Championship(Football) and a Golden Glove Championship(Boxing) he got back to his true passion at APEC, Training Athletes. Cody has a passion to help athletes that are told that they can't.
"I learned the value of good training and unfortunately the concequences of bad training. It's my passion to give our athletes the best ."

At APEC we know that in game performance improvement is what is most important. The test we conduct are to measure overall athleticism and the explosive nature of the athletes. The vertical, broad, 40 yard dash, and pro agility are standard test for measuring an athletes explosive nature. APEC also administers 6 other test including a Functional Movement Analysis. We use "NO LIE" professional lasers to time. Our testing equipment is the best and used by the NBA, NFL, and Oylmpic training facilities.
